Margie Kimsey Lawson, age 85 of Cornelia, passed away on Friday, February 3, 2017.
Born in St. Petersburg, Florida on June 11, 1931, she was a daughter of the late James Henry and Savannah English Kimsey. Mrs. Lawson was the owner and operator of Habersham County Credit Bureau for over 30 years. She was a member of Cornelia United Methodist Church who enjoyed playing bridge in her spare time.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Lawson was preceded in death by her husband Claude Eugene Lawson; brothers, Earl and Johnny Kimsey; sisters, Hazel Chosewood and Lucy Mae Wright.
Surviving are sons and daughters-in-law, Greg and Pam Lawson of Aiken, South Carolina, Kim and Cathy Lawson of Cornelia; daughter and son-in-law, Debbe and John Mize of Cumming; 10 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
Funeral services are 2 pm on Monday, February 6, 2017 at the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart with Rev. Jan Devereaux officiating. Interment will follow in Level Grove Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 pm on Sunday at the funeral home.
