Margaret Caroline Mason Echols, age 80, of Alto, Georgia, entered into her heavenly home on Thursday, October 10, 2024.
Mrs. Echols was born on May 26, 1944 at the Charm House in Clarkesville, Georgia to the late Sherman and Clara Armour Mason. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 37 years who passed in 2001, Howard H. Echols; and her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Harrison and Eunice Echols.
Margaret dedicated many years of her life to nursing, including serving as a Charge Nurse at The Oaks at Scenic View, where she became a highly respected mentor. She was praised for her ability to guide and encourage young nurses, sharing techniques and wisdom that continue to be utilized today. While nursing was her profession, Margaret’s heart truly belonged to music. A gifted pianist, she began playing in churches at the young age of 12, starting at Alto Baptist Church. For over 30 years, she faithfully served as the pianist at Enon Baptist Church, where she was also a longtime member. For the past 12 years, she attended BC Grant Baptist Church. Margaret’s music wasn’t just a talent; it was her way of worshipping the Lord.
A woman of deep faith, Margaret was a passionate prayer warrior. When she promised to pray for someone, it was a true commitment, and she always followed through with her whole heart. Her relationship with God was central to everything she did, and she leaves behind a legacy of faith for her family, reminding them to trust and love the Lord with all their might and to be steadfast in prayer for themselves and those around them.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Maria and Edward Wilson, of Alto; granddaughter and her spouse, Wendi and Chris Allen, of Demorest; great-grandsons, Mason Allen and Jackson Allen.
