Marcelle Wiley Woody, age 77, of Lula, passed away Sunday, March 29, 2015.
Born on July 19, 1937, in Hall County, Georgia, she was a daughter of the late Arthur William and Margie Oliver Wiley. Mrs. Woody attended Clemons Chapel United Methodist Church and was a homemaker. She was a former Mayor for the City of Lula who enjoyed working with flowers in her spare time.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her twin sister, Margie Estelle “Essie” Wiley Allen; sister, Margaret Turner; brothers, A.W. “Dub” Wiley and Curt Wiley.
Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Raymond and Shelby Woody; son, Richard Woody all of Lula; daughters and sons-in-law, Carol and Dennis Rylee of Maysville and Regina and Harold Nash of Homer; brother and sister-in-law, Marvin and Linda Wiley of Lula; sister, Geraldine Armour of Lula; grandchildren and spouses, Chase Rylee (Jessica), Pam Craven (Jason), Riva Nash, Brittany Woody, Kayla Lee (Josh), Kim Marshall (John), Michael Holtzclaw; 16 great grandchildren.
Funeral services are 11 am Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart with Rev. Chase Rylee and Rev. Jerry Cameron officiating. Interment will follow in Westview Cemetery in Lula.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 & 6-8 pm on Tuesday at the funeral home.
