21-year-old killed, 3 others wounded in Athens shooting

Athens-Clarke County police are searching for suspects in an early morning Sunday shooting that left one man dead and three others injured.

At approximately 12:55 a.m. on April 30, officers responded to the 1100 block of Mitchell Bridge Road. At the scene, they found 21-year-old Marquise Jackson of Athens with a gunshot wound. EMS transported Jackson to an Athens area hospital, where he died from his injuries.

“Three other individuals arrived at local hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries related to this incident,” says Lt. Shaun Barnett of the Athens Clarke County Police Department (ACCPD).

Police are still searching for suspects, and they’re asking for the public’s help.
