Man found dead after Hall County fire

A man was found dead after a fire in Hall County Wednesday, according to officials.

Hall County Fire Rescue responded to the blaze at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 26, at 6700 block of Claude Parks Road where they found three acres of land fully engulfed in flames.

The first responding engine crew made contact with a witness who revealed that the property owner, an elderly male, could not be located.

As fire crews worked to control the blaze, which reached heights of up to 20 feet, they continued searching the area for the missing property owner, who was later found dead.

According to the witness, the man had started the fire earlier in the day to legally burn brush on his property, but the flames quickly spread and became uncontrollable.

The Hall County Fire Rescue, assisted by the Georgia Forestry Department, successfully contained the fire. The Hall County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating the cause of death.
