An man was arrested late last week after he allegedly committed a home invasion in Eastanollee, according to the Stephens County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities say Stephens County deputies responded to the burglary in progress on Rumsey Road on Thursday, Jan. 9, but couldn’t locate the suspect upon arrivial.
Later, deputies received a tip the suspect might have resided in a warehouse building near the location of the burglary on Rumsey Road. A search warrant for the premises was obtained before multiple agencies searched the building.
Inside, according to police, deputies discovered a man they believed to be the suspect as Anthony Carey, 52, of Eastanollee. Carey was taken into custody without incident.
He was charged with home invasion in the first degree, aggravated assault, burglary in the first degree, terroristic threats and acts, and simple battery.
