A man accused of shooting at Stephens County deputies during a domestic disturbance call faces multiple charges.
Deputies and GBI agents apprehended Tristan Levi Grafton at a home on Persimmon Street in Toccoa around 8:30 Monday night, Oct. 23. Hours earlier, the 26-year-old sparked an intense manhunt after he allegedly opened fire on neighbors and deputies on Christine Circle off Highway 123. Nobody was struck by the gunfire, but at least one patrol car was hit.
Originally, investigators charged Grafton with three counts of aggravated assault against a law enforcement officer.
Tuesday afternoon, Shirley told Now Habersham Grafton now faces six more charges.
Investigators charged Grafton with two additional counts of aggravated assault for shooting at his neighbors. He faces two weapons charges for illegally possessing a firearm as a convicted felon and two probation violations.
Law enforcement from multiple agencies responded to the Persimmon Street address after receiving a tip that Grafton was at a house there. Deputies said when crews arrived, they surrounded the residence and convinced Grafton to surrender peacefully. He was taken into custody without incident and booked in to the Stephens County Jail.
