(Clarkesville) – ABBA fans will be delighted to learn that the upcoming Movies on Main will feature the hit musical motion picture “Mamma Mia!”
In keeping with the film, people are being encouraged to come in Island casual attire or in 70s fancy dress for the 8.00pm screening at Habersham Community Theater (HCT) on Friday, June 10th.
“Mamma Mia” is the film version of the incredibly successful Broadway show of the same title and delivers an all-star cast and crowd-pleasing music inspired by ABBA disco-pop hits.
The event, presented by Clarkesville Main Street at HCT, is billed as a “Girl’s Night Out,” but all are welcomed. The movie is rated PG-13. “This showing is more than “just a movie! It’s an event!”, said Sherry Callahan, a Main Street volunteer. Alta Moseley, HCT President, added, “The theater lobby will be decorated, hosts will be in costume, there will be a trivia contest, and we will be serving wine and beer along with the more traditional movie snacks and drinks. It’s the perfect event for a fun night out.”
April’s movie, “Gone With the Wind”, was a sell-out event. Also showing at HCT on the big screen this year is: “Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark,” and “Elf: the Movie.”
Attendees are encouraged to purchase tickets early as seating is limited to the first 100 patrons. Tickets are $8 and can be purchased online at habershamtheater.org or by calling 706-839-1315. A link to ticket sales can also be found on clarkesvillega.com.
Event sponsors include Clarkesville Business & Community Association, and Springer Mountain Farms.
