Mack B. Caudell, 84, of Baldwin, passed away Sunday morning, March 19, 2017 after an extended illness.
Born May 30th, 1932, to Lee and Myrtle Caudell in Baldwin, Mack was a lifelong resident of Banks and Habersham Counties. He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Marian, who passed to the Lord in 2014. An avid outdoorsman and patriot, Mack will always be remembered for his love of nature, his family, and our country. He served 20 years in the United States Air Force, retiring with the rank of Master Sergeant, having seen combat in Korea and Vietnam.
He was also the last surviving member of his immediate family, having been preceded in death by both of his parents, his sister Mary Lou Meister, and two brothers, Harold and Bobby Joe Caudell – all of Baldwin.
Mack is survived by his two sons, Michael A. Caudell of Gainesville and Mark B. Caudell of Guntersville, Alabama. He also leaves behind eight grandchildren, seven and eight ninths great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 24, 2017 from the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart Funeral Home with the Rev. Edward Hood officiating. Interment will follow in the Baldwin City Cemetery will full military honors provided by the United States Air Force.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 until 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 23, 2017.
