Demorest, GA – The Piedmont College women’s tennis team took a step out of conference play on Friday afternoon competing against Southern Athletic Association member Rhodes College at Burgen Tennis Courts.
The Lynx handed Piedmont a 7-2 loss in the decision taking all but one of the doubles spots while taking five of the six singles matches.
The Lady Lions won their last non-conference contest, a 9-0 shutout of Point University earlier this week. However, with the loss this afternoon at home, Piedmont has now dropped two of its last three matches to fall to 3-5 overall on the year.
Piedmont picked up two decisions by default, one at #6 singles and another at #3 doubles. Rhodes moves to 6-4 on the season with the win and will travel to Atlanta to play Emory University tomorrow for its next contest.
The Lady Lions will get back in action on Sunday, March 22 as they jump back into conference play hosting LaGrange College for a 1:00 pm afternoon first serve.
