Howdy folks!
If the weather cooperates, there will be a lunar eclipse visible from all of Habersham County and the surrounding regions early Saturday morning. This eclipse will be a total eclipse for folks to our west, but for the eastern 1/3 of the nation the moon will set partially eclipsed on Saturday morning. Current models show clearing ongoing through the early morning hours behind the weak line of showers/storms, so there’s a chance things could work out and allow us to break our streak of 3-straight clouded/rained out eclipses.
To see the eclipse, go outside around 6:15AM on Saturday and look to the west. The moon will begin to darken and will continue to do so until it sets a little over 1 hour later at 7:17AM.
This is an easy event to view, let’s just cross our fingers that it works out weather-wise!~TW
