(Cleveland)- A Lula woman is facing numerous charges in connection with the exploitation of an elderly Cleveland woman. Cleveland Police Investigator Lt. Donna Sims said they received a complaint of an elderly victim that her finances may have been exploited.
Lt. Sims said 52- year old Cynthia Marie Forrester worked for a home health agency caring for an elderly woman who has dementia.
Forrester, in violation of the company policy, is accused of receiving gifts from the elderly woman who, according to Sims, could not recall giving her gifts.
Working with officials at United Community Bank, Lt. Sims said they discovered that Forrester had gone to the bank and obtained a credit card in the victims name and was using it.
The incident is believed to have occurred between May and July of this year.
Forrester, who was arrested August first, is charged with 13 counts each of forgery of a financial transaction card, financial transaction card fraud and identity theft as well as two counts of exploitation of a disabled or elderly person.
Bond has been set at $82,000 for the 41 counts.
