A Lula man charged last month with six counts of sexual exploitation of children has now been charged with 160 additional counts in the investigation, according to a news release from the Hall County Sheriff’s Office.
The additional charges were filed against Michael Reid Perkins, 62, on Wednesday, September 4. They were filed after forensic processing of electronic devices seized from his residence on River Station Drive on August 1, the sheriff’s office says.
Hall County sheriff’s investigators say they do not expect to file any more charges in the case.
Investigators launched their investigation in June after receiving the initial cybertip about Perkins’ alleged online activities from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC). He is accused of allegedly downloading child sex abuse material from the internet, according to the sheriff’s office.
The Georgia Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force (ICAC) assisted the sheriff’s office with the investigation.
Perkins remains in custody at the Hall County Jail with no bond.
