(Cleveland)- White County Animal Control Services has announced a low-cost spay/neuter program available to the public that went into effect on November 1.
The program is funded by a grant from the Georgia Department of Agriculture that assists low-income families with the costs associated with spay/neuter surgery for their pets.
Applicants must be residents of White County.
Approved applicants will be required to pay $20 towards the surgery and will receive a voucher to be presented at VCA Chestatee Animal Hospital for the balance of the surgery. Additional costs, pain medications, shots, etc. are the responsibility of the pet owner.
“We are pleased to be the recipients of this grant and to be able to assist families in our community,” says White County Public Safety Director David Murphy.
Applications for both the spay/neuter grant and adoptions can be obtained at White County Animal Control located at 680 Industrial Boulevard in Cleveland.
