‘Love for Lindsey’ benefit Friday

Lindsey Brown (back row, 4th from right) was on the Raider Varsity cheerleading squad in 2013. Here she is pictured with former teammates in a photograph taken last year.

Friday night the Cheer Program at Habersham Central High School will take up a love offering at the Raiders football game for former cheerleading teammate Lindsey Brown. Brown was critically injured in an automobile accident last month. She’s now recovering at the Shepherd Center in Atlanta.

HCHS Cheerleading Coach Kathy Daniel says Brown bowed out of the cheerleading program this year to focus on her studies. Previously she cheered for Ninth Grade Academy, Junior Varsity and Varsity during her junior year. Brown’s mother, Alice Roland Brewer, is an HCHS teacher and former cheerleading coach.

The theme for Friday night’s benefit is “Love for Lindsey.” For donations of $5 or more you’ll have a chance to win gift items donated by local businesses. Items include:

Vase from Blue Willow Florist in Demorest courtesy of Meredith Harkness
Basket of Grill Seasonings / Rubs from Bob & Ted’s Trophy Shop in Clarkesville courtesy of Mike Roberts
Gift basket from Southern Bank & Trust in Clarkesville
Gift basket from Raider Market at HCHS in Mt. Airy
One dozen cake balls from Sugartopia in Cornelia
Hair products from Hair Express in Demorest
HCHS cheer package with a spirit t-shirt, football and Raider seat cushion
Family Fun Pack with 2 Extra Value Meals and 2 Happy Meals from McDonalds

All proceeds will go to assist Lindsey Brown and her family with medical bills. The “Love for Lindsey” benefit will be held at Raider Stadium in Mt. Airy this coming Friday, Nov. 7, during the Raiders game against Chattahoochee. It’s the last game of the season. Kickoff is at 7:30pm.
