Louise Moore Ivester, age 94, of Turnerville, passed away Tuesday, July 9, 2019.
Born in Turnerville, Georgia on April 14, 1925, to the late Virgil James and Lizzie Mae Ivester Moore. Mrs. Ivester was a retired seamstress with Clarkesville Garment. She enjoyed gardening, quilting, and crocheting. Mrs. Ivester was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and will be missed by all who knew her. She was a member of the Hollywood Church of God.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Odell Ivester; son and daughter-in-law, Leslie Boyea Ivester (Ann) grandchild, Shandon Ivester; brother, Willard Moore; sisters, Nancy Tillitson, Ila Ivester, Valaree Ivester, Fannie Moore, and Inez McGahee.
Surviving are her sons and daughters-in-law, Lonnie Ralph Ivester (Connie) of Clarkesville, Richard Carl Ivester (Nita) of Turnerville; daughter and son-in-law, Margie A. Shirley (Terry) of Turnerville; 7 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters-in-law, Randolf Moore (Betty) and Charlie Moore (Jewell) all of Clarkesville, Claude Moore (Carolyn) of Dahlonega; sisters, Velma Sewell of Clemson, South Carolina; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services are scheduled at 2 pm, Friday, July 12, 2019, in the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin and Stewart with Rev. Kevin Jones, Rev. Austin Ivester, and Rev. Ralph Goss officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm on Thursday at the funeral home.
