Look who’s reading “14 Cows For America”…

The book by Carmen Agra Deedy is this year's featured titled for One Book Habersham - Together We Read

North Georgia Technical College ESL instructor Michelle Wilson reads One Book Habersham’s 14 Cows for America to two of her students, Samleth Souphakdy (left) and  Zedou Ngandu. Souphakdy is from the Buddist Temple in Baldwin and Ngandu, a veterinarian, is from the Democratic Republic of Congo. Both are learning English in the NGTC program held Tuesday through Thursday at the First Baptist Church of Cornelia.

14 Cows for America is the picture book chosen for the 6th Annual One Book Habersham – Together We Read program. The book is available for the community to read at medical and dental offices, banks, businesses, restaurants and coffee shops across Habersham County.

On April 14 and 15, the author, Carmen Agra Deedy will visit and speak to elementary school children in the Habersham County Schools system.

The community is invited to meet and hear her speak on April 15 at 5:30 p.m. at Wilbanks Middle School.
