Local Paralympian swimmer strikes again in Rio with third medal

Rio has been great for Clarkesville’s McKenzie Coan, as she collected her third medal of the games on Thursday night.

Coan, who already won two individual gold medals in  the 50-meter freestyle and 400-meter freesytle (with a Paralympic record in the 50-meter), added a silver medal in the 4×100 freestyle on Thursday evening. The U.S. came in second to Australia by a mere four seconds.

Coan has two remaining events, including the 100-meter freestyle race and the 4×100 medley on Friday, September 16. The 20-year-old Coan is a two-time Paralympian. WATCH: team relay silver celebration below; 50-meter freestyle gold HERE
