A woman who was found dead at a residence in Carnesville has been identified, according to the GBI.
Authorities say the body of Laura Roberts, 58, of Carnesville, was discovered at 828 Goolsby Rd. on Friday, Jan. 24.
“We are currently awaiting autopsy results, and the investigation remains active and ongoing,” GBI spokesperson Nelly Miles said in an email.
The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office will continue to work on the case in conjunction with the GBI. Authorities say details will be released as they become available.
The sheriff’s office has said there is no immediate threat to the public at this time.
