Lloyd James “Chub” Parker, age 76 of Demorest, Georgia passed away on Friday, May 18, 2018.
Born in Habersham County, Georgia on November 16, 1941, he was a son of the late Dave Parker, Sr. & Cloia Darnell Parker. Mr. Parker worked with Milam Concrete for many years and was a member of the Clarkesville Church of God. He enjoyed front porch swinging, dancing, and NASCAR racing. Most of all, “Chub” loved his family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Canup Parker, sister, Jean Parker, brothers, Dave Parker, Jr. & Sammy Parker.
Survivors include his children, Rebecca Ann “Becky” & Robert Lee House, III, of Mt. Airy, Georgia, Joyce Wigington & friend, Truitt Justus of Toccoa, GA; Millie & Bo London of Cleveland, GA; Dorothy Jean “D.J.” & Anthony Harkins, Mountain City, GA; Delorace & Wallace Dodd of Clarkesville, GA; Dillard Canup of Hiawassee, GA; Clifford & Shelby Murphy of Demorest, GA; brother and sister-in-law, Lamar & Dolly Parker of Baldwin, GA; 13 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, numerous great-great-grandchildren, other relatives & friends.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Monday, May 21, 2018 from the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart Funeral Home with Rev. Tim Tanner & Rev. John Dubois officiating. Interment will follow in the B.C. Grant Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Sunday.
