He grew up around music in Alto, Georgia. A preacher’s kid and the grandson of two preachers on both sides, Dylan Armour has something different and unique that audiences connect with from the first strum of his guitar. It isn’t something he has learned to do, it is something embedded within that makes the listener lean in to hear more as Armour becomes one with the lyrics, the strings on the guitar, and his voice.

“I can’t remember not playing or being around music,” Armour said. “I grew up playing music in church and then started playing Bluegrass. At 16, the day I got my license, I drove to Savannah, Georgia, to play and have been playing ever since.”

From California to Canada and everywhere in between, The Dylan Armour Band has been wowing audiences with the richness of gospel, rock-and-roll, and country blends to make a one-of-a-kind sound that dips deep inside the listener’s soul.

Longtime friend, keyboard player, and manager Jeremy Whitesides has been with Armour since the beginning, and his belief in Armour’s giftings is evident. “This guy, he’s got what it takes to go somewhere,” Whitesides spoke about Armour. “On and off the stage, Dylan’s humility and generous love of all people makes those around him want to be around him.”

Whiteside talked about how real Armour is in everyday life and treats everyone with respect and dignity. “All of us in the band get along. We are honest with one another and we believe in Dylan and where we can all go in this business together.”

The singer, songwriter, and guitarist has shared the stage with many well-known names such as Mark “Sparky” Matejka of the Lynyrd Skynyrd Band, Chris Hennessee, Trent Willmon, and many others. His love for sharing music with others shines through as he talks of his life growing up, presently, and in the future.

Armour speaks of his family and it is obvious of the admiration and love he has for his wife Brandy and two boys Greyson and Waylon. When he met Brandy they dated for three months before they married. She is his biggest support and he relies on her for honest criticism. Brandy and the boys travel with the band when touring. Everything about Armour reflects family, friendships, and faith.

What hits close to home is Armour’s belief in God, himself, and the people around him. “You can work as hard as you want to do something, but if you don’t believe in what you’re doing, you are wasting your time,” he reflected.

As a songwriter, Armour believes his words mean something different to different people. “I never want to tell what the song means to me because I believe we find what we need in the lyrics,” Armour said. “Because of our various walks in life, what I have experienced is not what someone else has experienced but we have common ground in the lyrics and the music.”

One of his recent songs reflects just that sentiment. In his newest release, “Let It Pour”, he speaks of loss and loneliness. We all find ways to make that pain go away. In his song “Young Love”, Armour expresses “could be good for us all” and talks about the softness and newness of when we don’t understand what forever really means. How can we recapture that time in our lives when we are completely all in for the one we love? But this writer’s favorite is Armour’s rendition of “Without Saying a Word” by Keith Whitley.

Armour’s songs can be found on Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, TikTok, and Facebook.

“If you can go out and do what you love and make a living, you’ve got to be livin’ the dream,” Armour said. To Armour, music and being able to share it is a blessing. He never wants to take it for granted.

“Part of living is chasing the dream. It’s like a dog chasing a car, when that car stops, it’s over, right?” Whiteside added.
