Sometimes dreams take time, and for Christy Brown, Co-Owner of Habersham Aesthetics, it has been 30 years in the making, but well worth the wait.
“I began working as a medical assistant in 1991 for a primary care physician in Gainesville,” Brown began.
Over the past 30 years, she has worked in various roles at the office of Dr. Thomas Hatchett in Demorest. He is now her business partner and medical director for Habersham Aesthetics.
The Dream
Brown has always dreamed of owning her own business. “I wanted to create a place for our community and the surrounding counties where people can prioritize their health and wellness.”
Brown talked about the importance for clients to have an atmosphere of trust for the professionals helping them and a place close to their homes.
“We are bringing state-of-the-art procedures within a ten to fifteen-minute drive,” she added.
Brown received her Esthetician Certification at Lanier Technical College. “Growing up and even into adult years, I never understood the importance of wearing sunscreen and the impact the sun and other environmental factors can have on the skin,” Brown emphasized.
It is one of the driving forces behind her passion for helping people care for themselves properly. She wants to educate clients about the importance of caring for their skin. But it is not just about skincare.
Services
Habersham Aesthetics offers a broad range of services. “On the medical side, we offer Biote Hormone Optimization for both men and women, IV hydration, supplemental injections, and medically supervised weight loss solutions,” Brown talked with enthusiasm about the life-changing services.
On the aesthetic side, Habersham Aesthetics treats fine lines and wrinkles, customized facials, teeth whitening, spray tans, and so much more.
Brown loves the daily interactions with the clients. It is always a bright spot to hear people feeling good about their health and wellness.
“Receiving positive feedback from clients such as ‘This is a game changer,’ ‘I haven’t felt this good in years,’ and ‘I feel beautiful,’ just to name a few of the comments, is very gratifying,” she said.
Family
Another aspect of her life is family. Family is extremely important to her. Brown says it is her family that gives her the most support.
Married to Jim Brown, the two share three boys – Brooks and J, who attend Habersham Central, and Keylan, who lives in Nashville, Tennessee, with his new bride, Elisa.
“I finally have a girl in my life!” Brown bragged about her new daughter-in-law.
Brown started working at the age of 15, sometimes working more than one job to make ends meet.
“It feels incredible to be a business owner and apply all the things I have learned along the way,” Brown reminisced. “I am very blessed in my life right now.”
Lesson in Life
Brown looks at every job opportunity as a lesson that has helped her to learn and grow personally and professionally. She doesn’t see it as working her way to the top because the top is a stopping point. “I will always strive for improvement and growth to bring the best experience and outcome to those who trust us with their care.”
Brown recognizes the importance of a thriving work environment. She credits the Habersham Aesthetics team for their service-oriented beliefs and sees the consistent dedication they bring to changing clients’ lives.
“They are the reason we have returning clients,” Brown added. “Working with like-minded people who are passionate about what I am passionate about is the true dream.”
