Lions Shutout Local Rival Toccoa Falls

Demorest, GA – CHASE KANE scored two goals in front of a packed house at Walker Athletic Complex Tuesday as the Piedmont College men’s soccer team rolled to a 3-0 shutout of local foe Toccoa Falls College. Kane’s first came in the 24th minute before he followed that up with a header in the 51st minute of play to put on just the type of show fans came to see on “Cram the Complex” Night at Walker Athletic Complex, the first in Piedmont’s athletic promotional series for 2015-16.

Accounting for the third Piedmont goal was freshman CULLEN COPLAND who tallied his score less than 50 seconds after Kane’s 1st in the opening 25 minutes of play. Copland’s goal was created by a through-ball from CASON DOWDY.

On Kane’s first strike, it was the freshman CRISTIAN ALEGRIA who tallied the assist while Kane’s header on a corner in the second saw international MATTHEW METZGER earn the assist.
