Senior CHASE KANE registered his second straight hat-trick to lead the Piedmont College men’s soccer team to a 6-1 win over Toccoa Falls College on Tuesday night.
The Lions overcame a slow start in Tuesday’s game but answered with four goals in the first half. The Screaming Eagles scored in the second minute play and controlled the pace until Kane’s first goal tied the game 1-1 in the eighth minute.
Kane put the Lions in front 2-1 with a goal in the 23rd minute and notched his third goal in the 30th minute. CAMERON EARLSscored in the 34th minute to put the game away and give Piedmont a 4-1 lead at halftime.
Kane finished the game with three goals and one assist while Earls scored once and had one assist.
COLIN OWEN scored Piedmont’s fifth goal in the 49th minute before DAVID QUICENO closed the Lions’ scoring in the 71st minute.
Piedmont played a balanced game and finished with 31 shots (16 in the first, 15 in the second) while Toccoa Falls managed 13 shots.
Keeper ELLIOT SAILES earned the win the goal and recorded five saves.
