DEMOREST, Ga. – In the regular season home finale inside Cave Arena, the Piedmont volleyball team was unable to keep pace with the Stormy Petrels of Oglethorpe in a 3-0 loss.
Piedmont kept it close through the opening minutes of competition, but Oglethorpe took the lead 15-8 midway through the first set and never looked back. Piedmont did try to make a late run but was unable to overcome the deficit in a 25-19 opening set loss.
The second set was all Stormy Petrels as they claimed it 25-15, but Piedmont challenged late in the third. After trailing 18-10, Piedmont bounced back to make a late charge but eventually dropped the set 25-20.
Jenna Ash tallied seven kills, while Katie Hubbard added six.
Up next, Piedmont heads to Montgomery, Alabama, for a CCS tri-match to end the season on Saturday, October 28, against Huntingdon and Berea.

–Oglethorpe was dominant in the second set, putting away the Lions 25-15.
