Linburgh “Lin” Ansley, age 87, of Cornelia, Georgia, passed away on Wednesday, March 11, 2015.
Mr. Ansley was born on June 7, 1927 in Stephens County, Georgia to the late James Theodore and Alpha Blair Ansley. He was a member of Level Grove Baptist Church and was a World War II Veteran having served in the United States Army. He was a retired master plumber with 26 years of service with A&A Electric and Plumbing. He was a loving Husband and Grandfather. He loved spending time with his family and grandchildren. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by 4 sisters; 10 brothers; and grandson, Zachary Lynn Ansley.
Survivors include his loving wife of 59 years, Cora Lee Moody Ansley, of Cornelia; daughters and sons-in-law, Terri and Donnie Brock, of Cornelia; and Linda and Keith Deyton, of Clarkesville; sons and daughters-in-law, Chris and Pennie Ansley, of Clarkesville; and Tim and Dana Ansley, of Helen; brother and sister-in-law, Hershel and Runnette Ansley, of Cornelia; 10 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Friday, March 13, 2015 at Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, Georgia with Rev. Terry Rice and Rev. Brian James officiating. Interment will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens with military honors provided by Grant Reeves VFW Post 7720, Rabun County DAV. Chapter 15, Habersham County American Legion 84, and Georgia National Guard.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 12, 2015.
