This photo was posted to Now Habersham’s Facebook page by Cindy Ferguson. She snapped it Wednesday at work during the height of the storm that pummeled Habersham and much of the Southeast.
“This morning as I was dropping off my sons at Demorest Elementary, I knew we weren’t going to make it in time. The wind became extremely gusty as the rain started to fall. The teachers were all holding umbrellas but were being blown around with the wind and couldn’t hold them any longer. The wind was blowing so hard it was turning their umbrellas inside out. They all made a dash for cover.
Seeing this, my smaller son was afraid and wouldn’t leave the car. We had to wait for the wind to calm down before I could walk him in. After finally being able to walk him in, I went in to work and my co-worker came in with this umbrella all battered and damaged from being blown inside out. She had been out in the weather at the same time.”
