The Chattahoochee River crested above flood stage in the pre-dawn hours Wednesday. Streets were flooded in Helen as the river roared south. Downstream from Helen, in the Fairview community of Habersham, flooding along the river took over part of the Roland family yard.
Rolands on the River is a popular gathering spot for church and community events. Sidney Roland sent these pictures of the flooding Wednesday afternoon.
