Erwin, a tuxedo cat who was recently featured in Now Habersham’s “Adopt-A-Pet” series, found his forever home the day after he shared his story with the community.

The once-stray is home with his family, and has officially changed his name to Erwin Mote.

Erwin loved to snuggle up on a cushion he found at the Habersham County Animal Shelter, but now, he’s found an even snugglier spot: a quilt in his new home.

“[I] Just wanted to let you know that I am doing very well in my new home,” Erwin writes to the Habersham Animal Shelter. “I have found something that I like even better than a couch. Thank you for taking care of me until I was adopted.”

Erwin can finally unwind, knowing he’s loved and has a place, and a family, to call his own.
