Baldwin 5th grader Ana Garcia exclaims her joy at meeting children’s author Carmen Agra Deedy. Garcia was among hundreds of local school children Deedy visited with during the final week of One Book Habersham, Together We Read.
Deedy’s book, Martina the Beautiful Cockroach, was the featured title for the inaugural community-wide reading campaign.
Some 200 people turned out Friday night, March 27, at Habersham Central High School to hear Deedy share stories about her life and her life’s work.
