Staff from the Lieutenant Governor’s Office will hold its mobile office hours in Habersham County Monday, July 15. The mobile office hours program was started by Lieutenant Governor Burt Jones last year in an effort to assist Georgians with issues at the state level that affect them individually.
The Lieutenant Governor’s Office has two field representatives that visit each county to give citizens an opportunity to speak with those that may be able to help them resolve issues they may have. North Georgia Field Director Luke Hetland states that rather than speaking to large groups, “These mobile hours serve as a time to meet individually or with a small group to discuss concerns constituents are facing.”
“If someone’s case with an agency is stalling or they haven’t heard back in a while, our staff can reach out to see where it is in the process to give constituents an answer or help find the solution,” Hetland says.
He adds, “Someone may be facing an issue that hasn’t really been seen before that may require legislative action. They certainly aren’t the only person in the entire state that is having whatever specific issue it is and we can take it back to our office to see what all can be done.”
For Hetland, this is a program he enjoys. “It’s been my pleasure to meet so many fantastic people because of this program.”
You may RSVP Hetland in advance at [email protected].
The Lieutenant Governor’s Office mobile office hours will take place Monday, July 15, from 3 p.m. to 4:45 p.m. in the ground floor conference room in the Habersham County Administration Building at 130 Jacob’s Way in Clarkesville.
