An 18-month-old boy who was abducted from his Clarkesville home early Saturday has been safely located. Police are still searching for the boy’s biological father who police say abducted him.

Jacob Chambers was abducted from his mother’s home in the pre-dawn hours of Sept. 19. Clarkesville Police and the GBI issued a Levi’s Call. Jacob was safely located.

Police have taken out arrest warrants on 46-year-old Charles Eric Chambers. He was last seen at the child’s home at 824 Railroad Avenue. According to Clarkesville Police Chief Brad Barrett, Chambers “forced himself into the home and assaulted and battered the mother before grabbing the baby and leaving.” The child’s mother told police the suspect was “obviously under the influence of intoxicants.”

Chambers is a white male, 5’9″ tall, and weighs 210 pounds. He may be traveling in a red 1997 Chevrolet extended cab pickup truck with a black tailgate and Georgia license tag # RDP3863.
