We all have them, those places in our lives where we feel “less than” others. Less efficient. Less healthy. Less pretty. Less smart. Less creative. Less…
I remember feeling insecure and out-of-place recently. I’m not exactly sure what prompted such emotions; but, it didn’t take long before my thoughts were filled with all the “less than” aspects of me. The positive reminders I normally felt were rapidly being replaced by a lot of negative words. As I closed my eyes, asking God to help me regroup, verses quickly came to mind.
“Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus” -Romans 8:1
“What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?” -Romans 8:31
“No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.”-Romans 8:37
“For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.” -Psalm 139:13-14
“For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” -Ephesians 2:10.
There wasn’t a verse that came to mind which said anything about being “less than.” Maybe today you are feeling “less than” those around you; maybe you are wondering if you are even capable of doing what is ahead of you today.
Don’t allow the “less than” words to plague your mind. Know that even with the smallest drop of God in us, we are greater than anything in this world.
“You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.” -1 John 4:4.
