Lee McCoy 42nd in Savannah Golf Championship after entering 12th Sunday

It was a fairly good weekend for Lee McCoy in this weekend’s Savannah Golf Championship down in South Georgia. The former Habersham Central state champion (Class of 2016) currently resides in the Web.com Tour, an extension of the PGA Tour.

McCoy entered Sunday’s fourth and final round at 8-under par, good for 12th place overall in a tough field. Consistency was the theme for the former UGA great, who shot a 70 in the opening round, following by two rounds of 69 leading into the final round. His Sunday was a big tougher, as he managed a 75 to finish 5-under for the tournament.

McCoy’s 42nd place finish was just shy of his top finish in 2019, as he previously had finished as high as 32nd at The Bahamas Great Exuma Classic at Sandals Emerald Bay.

Video sports producer Glenn Ingram caught up with McCoy for his reaction after Sunday’s final round.
