A late-night fire Monday burned a Habersham family out of their home.
The fire broke out around 10:40 p.m. inside a double-wide mobile home on Fred Pitts Road in the Fairview Community. Six people were living inside the residence. All of them made it out safely. One of the residents called 911.
When firefighters arrived, they found heavy fire showing from the front of the residence, says Habersham County Emergency Services Directory Chad Black. Crews made an interior attack and were able to contain the fire.
Crews remained on scene until 12:30 a.m. Tuesday overhauling the house and removing items that the family needed. Fire officials called in the Red Cross to assist the family.
Officials are still trying to determine what caused the fire.
