A late-night fire Thursday destroyed a home in Demorest. Family members evacuated after the blaze broke out around 10:33 p.m. on Dec. 19.
Firefighters from Demorest, Habersham, and Lee Arrendale State Prison responded to the call. When they arrived at the scene on Garrett Road, they found the single-story residence in flames.
There were no initial reports of any injuries or information about what caused the fire.
Now Habersham has reached out to officials and will update this article when new information is released.
