There are now just five days left to cast your ballot ahead of Georgia’s May 24 primary. Advance voting week begins Monday, May 16, and runs through Friday, May 20. Polls at the Habersham North Precinct in Clarkesville will be open from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily. There is no advance voting at the Habersham South Precinct.

Approximately 9% of Habersham’s more than 28,000 active registered voters have already cast primary ballots. Of those, 2,260 voted in person and 184 submitted absentee mail-in ballots, data from the county elections office shows. There are 253 absentee ballots that were requested that have not yet been returned. In order for them to count, they must be turned in to the elections office no later than 7 p.m. on Tuesday, May 24.

Voters who want to drop off their absentee ballots at the elections office may do so; a drop box is available inside the office during normal business hours. The elections office is located in the basement of the Habersham County Administration Building at 130 Jacob’s Way in Clarkesville.

Voters may familiarize themselves with their ballot ahead of voting by logging in to their My Voter Page on the Georgia Secretary of State’s website. Sample ballots for Habersham County may also be found here.

Polls on election day will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at all of the county’s voting precincts.
