For the second straight year, Habersham’s Lainey Gosnell has been named the BLITZ Girls Basketball Player of the Year.
And for the second time this school year, the senior hauls in a second player of the year award, as she was also named Volleyball Player of the Year by BLITZ back in October 2016 [also for the second year in a row].
Gosnell tallied 2,008 career points, a mind-boggling amount; the 1,000-point mark is often associated with an incredible career. For Gosnell, there’s not a word to describe her success. The Region 8-AAAAAA Player of the Year averaged over 20 points and 11 rebounds per game in 2016-17, leading the Lady Raiders to the state playoffs for the first time in her career.
