The White County girls golf team cruised to a state championship Tuesday at the GHSA Class 3A State Tournament at Apple Mountain Golf Course in Clarkesville.
The Lady Warriors were up 15 strokes after the first round and won the title by 30 strokes.
Catie Craig, who was tied for the lead heading into Tuesday’s final round, shot a two-day 1-over-145 to take State Runner-Up and end her career in dominant fashion. Erin Dorsey came in 8th, and Rylee Adams 9th.
North Hall High School senior Mikayla Dubnik captured the individual title with a two-day 4-under total 140.

History continued to be made for the Tallulah Falls School girls golf team, as the Lady Indians finished the GHSA 1A Private State Championship with a runner-up finish, tying with Athens Academy.
The girls combined for a 299 total two-day score, shooting a 146 a day after a 153. Maggie Jackson closed her career with a 72, giving her a tournament total of 147, which had her in fourth place and just eight strokes shy of the tournament champion. Brinson Hall also polished off her career with a stellar performance, carding a 74 for a two-day total of 152. Hall finished eighth in the state. Sophomore Hannah Lundy came in 23rd with a total of 211.
Holy Innocents won the tournament with a 284 score.
The tournament was played at Heritage Golf Links in Tucker. It marked the Lady Indians’ sixth straight state tournament appearance (excluding the COVID riddled 2020 season). Their second-place finish is the highest in school history.
In the Class 6A tournament, Habersham Central’s girls were in 9th after one day, with Selah Anderson at 21st to lead the way. By the closing, the girls moved up into 8th, and Anderson paced the team with a 19th-place individual finish.
