The White County Lady Warriors move on to the Sweet 16 round following their victory over the Ringgold Lady Tigers Tuesday night, 70-38.
Off to an early start, the Warriors came prepared to play and took an early double-digit lead, ending the first period 21-5. White County kept that pressure on through the second and entered halftime with a score of 32-15.
Technical problems with the shot clock extended the halftime break, but the ladies returned to play with the same sense of passion for victory as the fans watched the Warrior lead climb higher, increasing their safety net and ending the third period 54-27.
The final period saw all 5 of the starting Lady Warriors reach double-digit scores, and as the game came to a close and as the Lady Tigers continued to fight, White County could see the Sweet 16 train coming down the tracks. They clinched the victory in Round 1 with a final score of 70-38.
White County will host the next round in the playoffs on Friday, Feb. 23, when they take on Franklin County’s Lady Lions. The pregame show begins at 5:45 pm, with tip-off at 6.
