Being down 4-0 and then 10-4 didn’t phase Habersham, as the Lady Raiders fought back with seven unanswered runs to steal a win from Winder-Barrow at home.
Kylie Gray’s two-run single in the seventh brought home the tying and winning runs, giving the Lady Raiders the walk-off win and sending the fans home happy. It was a total team effort, as Gray and Ansleigh Holland shook off a tough night of pitching.

Paige Cook led the offense with three hits, while Jennifer Dover, Holland and Jenna Smith all added a pair of hits each. Gray, Holland and Adelaide Askew drove in two runs each, while Dover and Cook scored three and two runs, respectively.
Habersham notched 12 hits and walked four times and had two hit by pitch, providing the baserunners needed to complete such a comeback.
After trailing 4-0 early, the Lady Raiders tied it up with a run in the second and three in the third. However, Winder-Barrow put up five runs in the fourth and another run in the fifth to take a dominant 10-4 lead. The Lady Raiders never gave up, responding with four in the fifth to bridge the gap to 10-8. After a single run in the bottom of the sixth, Habersham entered the final frame down 10-9.
With the bases loaded, Gray punched a single to right field, bringing home the final two runs and the 11-10 win for the Lady Raiders! Habersham Central moves to 5-11 overall and 2-4 in region play with the win over Winder.
