The #5-ranked Lady Indians won in convincing fashion over visiting Athens Christian on Thursday evening in the region semifinals, securing a spot in the title match to be held Saturday. TFS won 3-0 by identical set scores.

The Lady Indians won 25-12 in the first set, and won the second and third by the same score.

“It was some of the cleanest and prettiest play we’ve done in a while,” says coach Matt Heyl. “All 14 players got to play and contribute. I’m not sure if a certain individual stood out a lot more than someone else. Everyone seemed to play pretty well and the usual core players on the team did excellent. This was just a great team effort. Any easy ball that Athens Christian sent over the net we capitalized on with a great play pretty much every time.”

The Lady Indians are now 29-11 on the season, and the regular season region champs now have a shot to claim their first region tournament title as well. TFS will host #7-ranked Prince Avenue Christian on Saturday at 12 PM in a best-of-five match. The teams have split in two matches this season.
