The #9-ranked Lady Indians opened their region tournament at George Walton by beating the host team in the semifinals, 42-28. With the victory, TFS, who opened as the #1 seed in the tournament, advances to the Region 8-A Private Championship game for the second year in a row.
TFS ran up a 17-6 lead out of the gate and stretched it to 26-14 heading into the half. The Lady Indians continued to add insurance, heading into the final quarter up 35-18.
Veronaye Charlton led all scorers with 21 points, followed by Denika Lightbourne with 9. Macy Murdock had 5 points, Kailyn Neal 3, and Molly Mitchell and Tanisha Seymour both had 2 apiece.
TFS is now 12-4 on the season, and take on Prince Avenue Christian on Tuesday for the region title.
