Japanese equipment manufacturer Kubota plans to invest $140 million into building a new plant in Hall County. The new facility will be dedicated to expanding production capacity for Kubota loaders, the company says. The expansion is expected to create more than 500 new manufacturing jobs.

The nearly 650,000 square-foot facility will be located in Hall County’s Gateway Industrial Park. The project is set to break ground this year and be fully operational by August 2024.

President and CEO of Kubota North America Shingo Hanada says the expansion “is yet another example of our collaborative efforts with the State of Georgia to establish Gainesville as a major manufacturing hub for our North America operations.”

According to the company, this strategic expansion will allow Kubota to expand loader capacity to meet the growing market demands. It will also free up space in the existing Jackson County facility to expand the production of other attachments and implements for tractors and construction equipment.

“We are thrilled when companies choose to expand and reinvest in Georgia communities and we are proud to see an outstanding partner like Kubota continue to grow their operations in our state,” says Pat Wilson, Commissioner of the Georgia Department of Economic Development.

Kubota North America currently employs more than 3,000 workers across manufacturing, distribution, and engineering operations at the Gainesville and Jefferson, Georgia, facilities.
