Krockum recognized for commitment to safety at Habersham schools

Habersham County Sheriff Robin Krockum was recognized by school system officials for his continued commitment to school safety during a regular board of education meeting Monday, April 21.

During the meeting, Superintendent Patrick Franklin stood beside the sheriff and voiced his appreciation for Krockum’s recent efforts, which include putting an additional four school resource officers on campuses throughout Habersham.

“Tonight, I want to publicly thank you, sheriff, for what you’re doing for school safety and keeping our schools safe,” Franklin said.

Krockum then spoke to board members, emphasizing that enhanced school safety was one of his top campaign promises.

“I’m a product of Habersham County,” he said. “I graduated from Habersham Central in 1991…I do have a vested interest in school safety. I want to thank you for your recognition and your partnership.”
