Knox Jameson

Knox Jameson, age 91 of Turnerville, Georgia passed away on Sunday, March 25, 2018.

Born in Habersham County, Georgia on February 2, 1927, he was a son of the late Dolphus & Mary Jane Frady Jameson. Mr. Jameson proudly served his county in the United States Army during World War II. He was a retired truck driver with Coats & Clark and was a member of Antioch Baptist Church where he served as deacon Emeritus and was part of The Friendship Class. He was a former deacon and choir director at Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Mr. Jameson enjoyed cutting his grass, gardening, fishing and hunting.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Doug Norton; brother, John Jameson; sisters, Janie Stowe and Marie Lewallen.

Surviving are his wife, Leola Moore Jameson of Clarkesville; son and daughter-in-law, Roger & Barbara Jameson of Clarkesville; daughter, Brenda Sue Norton of Alabaster, Alabama; brothers, Phil Jameson and Bill Jameson both of Toccoa; sisters, Ruth Goss of Clarkesville, Loretta Webb of Dacula, Faye Johnson of Dawsonville, Grace Isom and Rosa Lee Whiten both of Toccoa; 3 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2 pm, Wednesday, March 28, 2018, at Antioch Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Mize, Rev. Chris Webb and Rev. Paul Jameson officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with full military honors provided by the United States Army, Grant Reeves VFW Post #7720, Habersham County American Legion Post #84, and the Rabun County DAV Chapter #15.

The family will receive friends from 5-8 pm on Tuesday at the funeral home.
