NOTE: Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and school closures, kindergarten registration has been postponed until further notice.
Parents of children old enough to start kindergarten next year may begin registering them for school later this month.
Habersham Schools will hold Kindergarten Registration on March 24-26 at Demorest Elementary School. An online registration form is now available. Parents are strongly urged to complete the form ahead of time in order to reduce wait times during on-site registration.
The school system released the following guidelines to help parents and guardians prepare.
Step 1:
Complete the Online Registration Form, accessible at habershamschools.com, click on “New Student Registration”

This form may be completed from home, at any Habersham County Elementary School, or at the Central Registration Office (located on the Ninth Grade Academy campus).
Step 2:
Bring the documentation listed below to Kindergarten Registration:
- Certified copy of student birth certificate
- Student Social Security Card
- Proof of residency* (Current utility bill -power/water/natural gas/cable- showing name and address of enrolling parent or guardian)
- Completed Georgia Immunization Form
- Completed Georgia Certificate of Eye, Ear, Dental, Nutrition Examinations Form
- Photo ID of parent or guardian registering student
Registration for all schools will be located at Demorest Elementary School from 4-7 p.m. on the dates listed below:

Parents may attend any night listed. Children should accompany parents to the registration. The registration process may take up to two hours.
