A baby kidnapped in a stolen vehicle Friday night in Athens has been found safe, police say.
Both the child and the stolen car were recovered, according to Athens-Clarke County Police. They did not say where the child and vehicle were found or if anyone is in custody in connection with the case.
The case began around 11:30 p.m. Friday, September 3, when officers responded to a report of a kidnapping and stolen vehicle at a home on Live Oak Drive. The initial investigation revealed a white 2020 Nissan Altima with Georgia license plate CRK4471 was taken from the driveway with the toddler inside.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation issued an Amber Alert.
The child named Saint Griffin Jones was missing for about 12 hours. Police released photos of Jones and asked for the public’s help to find him.
