Kathleen Downs Roberts Cingel, age 55, of Cornelia, Georgia went home to be with The Lord on Wednesday, July 4, 2018 following a sudden illness.
Kathy was born on May 26, 1963 in Atlanta, Georgia to the late William Henry and Charlotte Jeanette Downs. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Timothy Jay Roberts; and her brother, Dewey L. Parker. Kathy spent most of her life in the Gainesville area. She was a locksmith her whole life, she grew up picking locks and that’s what she did until she retired in 2014. Kathy loved being retired, and loved nothing more than to look after her grandchildren or just go out and about on a Saturday and find something to get into. She found a new love for life that last few years with her husband Tommy, there was no telling where they might end up. She was a member of Friendly Mission Baptist Church in Cornelia.
Survivors include her husband, Thomas Cingel, of Cornelia; daughter and son-in-law, Kristen and Thomas Perdue, of Alto; son and fiancé, Billy Roberts and Austin Lord, of Gainesville; grandchildren, Brentley Perdue, Blakely Perdue, Chasten Roberts, Raelynn Roberts; special friends, Cindy Vandiver, and Preston Youngblood; and all of the Perdue, Cingel, and Morris families that have grown to love her as well.
Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, July 8, 2018 at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel with Rev. Devin O’Kelly officiating.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Saturday, July 7, 2018 at the funeral home.
