Karen Sellers Lewallen

Mrs. Karen Joann Sellers Lewallen, 59, of Ridge Road, Toccoa, passed away Sunday, July 14, 2024, at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center, Gainesville.

A daughter of Dorothy Franklin Sellers and the late Floyd Lee Sellers, Jr., she was born August 15, 1964, in Stephens County, Georgia, having grown up in Habersham County before moving to Toccoa in 1993. She was employed with Ethicon for 17 years and later employed with Stephens County School System as a substitute teacher for 15 years. Due to her health, she had to retire. She was a member of Tates Creek Baptist Church. She loved to read, easily made friends, enjoyed going out with them, and enjoyed going to church. She was a loving wife, mother, daughter, and sister and loved spending time with her husband and son.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Charles and June Lewallen, and by a brother-in-law, Todd Matthews.

Survivors include her husband of the home, Harold Lewallen; son, Evan Lewallen of the home; mother, Dorothy Sellers of Cornelia; sisters and brother-in-law, Cindy Matthews and Fonda and Jon Lundy, both of Clarkesville; nieces, Peyton Delay, Hannah Lundy and Sarah Lundy; nephew, Parker Matthews; great-niece, Brooklynn Matthews; a number of aunts, uncles and cousins.

Funeral services will be Sunday, July 21, 2024, at 3 p.m. in the Hillcrest Chapel of the Acree-Davis Funeral Home, with The Reverend Jerrell Beatty and The Reverend David Ritcey officiating. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers and should assemble at the funeral home by 2:30 p.m.: Tim Canup, Tyler Crane, David Rice, Josh Adams, Parker Matthews, and Adam DeLay. Honorary pallbearers will be Johnny Franklin and Tony Crane.

The family will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Saturday, July 20, 2024, 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.acree-davisfh.com.

Interment will follow in the Stephens Memorial Gardens with the Acree-Davis Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements for Mrs. Karen Sellers Lewallen.
